This blog will be my outlet when I believe that something warrants thoughtful commentary. I will rarely make this about current events; there's plenty of commentary on that already. I'm more likely to tap into my areas of interest and expertise by focusing on artistic creations of various sorts. And because I understand that gender, race (including whiteness), sexuality, and class inflect all U.S. experiences, my analysis will often attend to that truth.

Supreme Court Agrees with Michigan Voters: Affirmative Action Must Remain for Whites Only
I have been silent on this cultural commentary blog longer than intended. However, I recently broke my silence on Huffington Post. On April 22, 2014, the Supreme Court issued its decision in the Michigan Proposal 2 case. The next day, I published "Supreme Court Agrees with Michigan Voters: Affirmative Action Must Remain for Whites Only"
My brief commentary will now likely appear in other venues, not this blog, but I will continue to post updates about a broad range of my activities (including when I publish commentary like that above) on the blog I maintain about my book Living with Lynching HERE and on its facebook page.
